By accessing VRBenchmark.com and/or submitting any data to the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set out below.


1. Purpose of VRBenchmark

VRBenchmark is a benchmarking and comparison platform designed for short‑term rental, holiday‑let, and accommodation businesses.

The platform allows businesses to:

  • Register on the site with limited data.
  • Submit percentage‑based business metrics only (e.g. % spend on marketing, staffing, technology, etc.)
  • Compare their percentage metrics against aggregated, anonymised datasets from other participating businesses

VRBenchmark does not collect or display absolute financial values, revenues, profits, booking values, or monetary figures.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Identifiable Information (Limited)

We collect and retain the following identifiable data:

  • Business contact name
  • Business contact email address
  • Number of properties managed or operated

This information is used strictly for:

  • Account access and platform functionality
  • Communication relating to the service
  • Data integrity, validation, and moderation

2.2 Benchmarking Data (Non‑Identifiable)

All benchmarking inputs are percentage‑based only, such as:

  • Percentage of income spent on marketing
  • Percentage of income spent on staffing
  • Percentage of income spent on technology
  • Other operational cost or performance percentages

No actual income values, turnover figures, profit amounts, or booking values are requested or stored.

3. Data Anonymity & Public Comparison

3.1 Anonymised Comparison

All benchmarking data is:

  • Aggregated
  • Anonymised
  • Presented without reference to any identifiable business, individual, brand, or location

Individual submissions are never publicly identifiable.

3.2 Consent to Anonymous Use

By submitting data to VRBenchmark, you:

  • Explicitly agree that your submitted percentage‑based data may be included in publicly visible, anonymised benchmarking comparisons
  • Acknowledge that benchmarking outputs may be viewed by other users, industry participants, or the general public in anonymised form

Once submitted, anonymised data cannot be withdrawn from aggregated datasets unless the account it deleted, and may be amended via the owners dashboard

4. Data Accuracy & User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that:

  • Any data submitted is accurate, truthful, and representative
  • Percentage values are correctly calculated

VRBenchmark:

  • Does not verify the financial accuracy of submitted data
  • Does not audit, validate, or certify benchmarking inputs
  • Makes no representation that benchmarking outputs are complete, precise, or suitable for financial decision‑making

Benchmarking data is indicative only, not definitive.

5. No Financial, Commercial or Professional Advice

All data, comparisons, and insights provided by VRBenchmark are:

  • For informational and comparative purposes only
  • Not financial, legal, accounting, investment, or commercial advice

You should seek independent professional advice before making any business, financial, or operational decisions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Loss of income
  • Loss of profit
